Located in the idyllic village of Boutenac-Touvent, this quiet piece of rural France is situated on the South-West Coast in the region of the Charente-Maritime, within 25 minutes of local beaches, close to the historical port of Mortagne-sur-Gironde, local amenities, and entertainment.

Built in the style of a Maison d'Maitre, Beauvoir's large rooms offer space for families, without losing the charm of an authentic French property.

With small children ourselves, the property is fabulous for little-ones.  The heated, private pool is secure at the rear of the property, and the small road to the front is only accessible by a few local village houses.  Both front and back gardens are secure.

It is truly a place to relax and enjoy some French hospitality in either summer or winter.

Location

The village of Boutenac-Touvent is a small village located in the west of France, in the department of Charente-Maritime of the french region Poitou-Charentes.  Beauvoir is situated on an extremely quiet road, close to the Church with views that overlook our private field and onwards across the valley.

The views of the sunrise are the most beautiful that you will ever see.

Close to beaches and historic towns and villages

8 Hours from Calais (by car)

5 Hours from Caen (by car)

Close to the local airports of Tours, La Rochelle, Nantes & Poitiers.

Located in the township of Cozes part of the district of Saintes, the village is close to the historical port or Mortagne sur Gironde, Jonzac (with its healing waters) and the walled town of Talmond with its boutique shops.

The Charente-Maritime is Poitou-Charentes' coastal department. Here, 420 km of sandy beaches are lapped by the Atlantic under some of the sunniest skies in the whole of France. There are also three islands, each with its own unique atmosphere. Inland, you won't struggle to find some incredible cultural and historical gems. Romanesque architecture features heavily throughout the department.

La Rochelle is an extremely smart town which has an active cultural scene throughout the year, regardless of the weather. You can stroll amongst the boats in the pedestrianised marina along the cobbled streets, and admire the two impressive 14th century towers.

Away from the mainland, the Ile de Ré is a large island completely encircled by fine and mostly sandy beaches.

There are a number of airports offering flights to and from the UK in the vicinity. Tours, La Rochelle, Nantes and Poitiers all have direct UK flights.  By car will take approximately 8 hours from Calais, 5 hours from Caen or if you'd rather travel by the very efficient  TGV train service, this will take you to Poitiers, La Rochelle or Angoulême, you will then need a car to travel to Beauvoir.
